Our Mission

Since Burges High School opened its doors in 1955 the world has really changed.  The Burges family and traditions haven’t changed. We regularly talk about what it means to be a Mustang in our community.  Attending Burges means that you are part of a proud and strong family!  The Burges family has high expectations with powerful academic traditions.  We are committed to developing high character and academically successful students.  ALL students, given their diverse abilities, will be prepared to be a successful member of our community and graduate in 4 years.  It is so encouraging to see our kids stepping up and being part of the community with food drives, public forums, etc.  It is rewarding to witness how successful our teams and clubs are being on the field, court, and in the classroom.

Burges High School is coming together to gather dog food and water bottles during this time in need. We are trying to collect as much as we can to help the cause.
All donations brought in to the Student Activities Center by this Friday (extended to Saturday between 1-5pm) will be part of the supplies the Humane Society of El Paso will be sending to the Houston area over the weekend. However, we will be taking donations up until next Friday to lend support to the Animal Emergency and Specialty Services of El Paso who will be sending aid and receiving pets from the affected areas. Please encourage your students, colleagues and families to contribute to this cause.

As a campus, we are conducting a survey to see how well our culture has been established. Our focus on our 5 Pillars: Encourage, Engage, Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience can be seen throughout many areas of the campus. This survey will poll all stakeholders and then the results will be used to discuss and reflect on how we can continue to grow and improve. Students will take the survey through their Social Studies class and we will do our best to reach out to all other stakeholders. Please take a few minutes to take the survey with the link below.

As we enter our hallways and as we leave our doors:  May we never forget where we are from. May we always remember we’re MUSTANGS. May we make this community a better place by our ACTIONS. May we make this world brighter by the way we live our lives!
