TEXAS HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

will award at total of $10,000 in educational scholarships to four 2017 Texas High School Graduating Seniors who submit the winning poster to be used in the fight against underage drinking.

TILF Scholarship: This scholarship is open to students who participate in UIL academic and music competitions. Applicants must compete at the state level in UIL academic contest AND must plan to attend a Texas college or university. ELORA BROTHERTON EDUCATION & COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Three $1.000 scholarships will be awarded to female students from schools in the El Paso area. To be considered, the applicant must

have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average, provide two letters of recommendations, an official transcript, a current photo, and a one-

RIO GRANDE ELECTRIC CO-OP SCOLARSHIP:

Open to current students whose parents/legal guardians are current members of Rio Grande Electric Cooperative in good standing. A total of 22 scholarships of $1,500 will be awarded.           Deadline: April 21, 2017

ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY, INC:Theta Delta Lambda Education Foundation

will award several school seniors. Applicants must be a May or June graduate and have at least a C+ average. Candidates will be judged on academic achievements as well as financial need.

TEXAS BUILDERS FOUNDATION:

This scholarship is open to Texas high school graduates that enroll for the fall semester in a Texas school and pursue a building trade

certification; construction science, management, engineering or related degree and plan to enter the construction workforce

UTEP BUILDing SCHOLARS seeks students interested in biomedical, social, behavioral and health sciences well as biomedical engineering. Students receive free tuition for up to four years and monthly stipend of over $700/month for freshman/sophomores and $1,000/month for juniors/seniors. MOUNT FRANKLIN KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIP:

The El Paso Community Foundation has awarded a $1,000 scholarship grant to Franklin High School. The scholarship is for those who plan to attend a 4-year university or college, preferably UTEP or NMSU, have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher, and are in financial need. Please turn in completed application to Mrs. LaFleur in the counseling center.

TEXAS ARMED SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP:

This program will give students the opportunity to receive a scholarship of up to $7,000 for the 2016-2017 academic year in exchange for participation in a college Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program and a four-year commitment to either the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air Force National Guard, or as a commissioned officer in any branch of the Armed Services of the United States.

El PASO SERGEANTS MAJOR ASSOCIATION:

Ayn Rand Essay Contest

Students compete for this award by writing an essay on one of three Topics related to Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged. The first place winner receives a grand prize of $10,000. Jackie Robinson's Foundation Scholarship Program

Applicants to this need-based scholarship are judged on leadership skills and commitment to community service. To be considered ligible, you must identify as a minority student. As many as 60 new Scholarships are awarded annually; the scholarships are 4-year awards, and recipients can receive as much as $7,500 per year.· This scholarship is open to minority high school seniors.· The application typically opens in November.
