100_2705.JPGI am a proud Burges alumnus who is excited about having the opportunity to return to this great school.  As a student, I was involved in theatre, dance, student council, and NHS.  I graduated number 3 in my class and received the All-Burges Girl award.  I then went to the University of Texas at El Paso where I graduated summa cum laude with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance.  During my four years at UTEP I performed choreography by Emily Morgan, Lisa Smith, Andrea Vazquez, Lina Puodziukaite, and various student choreographers.  I performed in numerous shows at UTEP, New Mexico State University, El Paso Community College, and the American College Dance Association Festivals in Las Cruces, Laredo, Huntsville, and Austin.  I have taken workshops in Martha Graham technique with Jennifer Conley, improvisation with Sally Doughty, and contemporary dance technique with Lina Puodziukaite.  I was president of the student organization, Desert Dance, for two years during which time I organized fundraisers to help raise over $8,000 to send students to the American College Dance Festival.  Upon graduation, I was awarded the Outstanding Service to the Dance Department award.  I performed with Another River Interdisciplinary Ensemble, which gave me numerous performance opportunities at various local venues in El Paso, Las Cruces, and Juarez, and I am currently performing and collaborating with Tumbleweed Collective.  This is my third year teaching dance at Burges and directing the school's performing dance company, Amici Chorea.
